Become a Homeowner

Buy A Home

The Community Land Trust of Western North Carolina (CLTofWNC) makes homeownership affordable for working class people and families. We help guide people through the process of becoming a homeowner so no one has to do it on their own and we also offer support after purchase for as long as people are CLTofWNC homeowners.

    • This is to ensure that mortgage payments won’t be more than 30% of a household’s income

  • A household’s income must include the total income from all adults living in the home and any disability, social security, or child support income.

    • You are a single parent who lost access to your home due to separation or divorce

Live In The Home At Least 10 Months Out of the Year

  • CLTofWNC homes must be owner-occupied (you have to live in this home, you can’t rent the whole house to someone else for passive income.)

  • Exceptions made for temporary situations like living with a family member to care for them at the end of their life.
